Hugo's World

A Conscious Way To Develop and Rise

I am a 45 year old person who would like to share some wisdom with many and hopefully my words showing my experience can inspire others to move forward in life

More than 17 years ago I saw a video and listened carefully Johnny Cash’s version of Nine Inch Nails song Hurt and it impacted me deeply enough that I made my interpretation of this in a Toastmasters Public Speaking Club at that time. I remember the lyrics were raw “What have I become
My sweetest friend?
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt”

The video showed the ups and lows of Cash’s life the love for his mother, his late second wife June Carter, the luxury of his status as a famous country singer. His activism for native Americans, the Vietnam war of the 70s, prisoners rights.

A very honest delivery from beginning to end showing images of young Cash and his evolution in time. I am pretty sure I am not the first one admitting that I cried few times when I watched the entire video of this song.

In perspective, the openness of a performer to show compassion for the prisoners, segregated native Americans was Cash’s legacy perhaps ours is different but inspiring others and feeling compassion for others can help to make our world a little better

    Hi Hugo,

I watched the piece on CP 24 “Toronto man loses $80,000 to romance scam advocates call for more fraud protection”

I thought you might be interested in this book.  I believe it deserves some attention in relation to this piece, and all other romance scam fraud that is happening in Canada.

This story helped me to realize that I’m not alone.  And, the “Warning Signs” section at the end of the book had a huge impact on me.

    Sincerely,

Thanks Andrea for the kind words.
I decided to moved on from this experience 3 months ago, this interview is a little old but my idea was more to educate people on this topic.
Yes, it is not easy to go through this kind of things but I am refocusing on my career, myself, kid and dog.
This tough experience helped me to realize that I forgot about myself and I got trapped that’s all.
If you would like to chat one day, would be great.

I have been doing traditional meditation and finding comfort on taking care of myself.
